EOSC Node Poland Accepted as a Production Node of the EOSC Federation
On 8 October 2026, the Node Coordinators Committee (NCC) accepted EOSC Node Poland as a Production Node of the EOSC Federation. This means that the Polish node has successfully met all requirements for production nodes and is ready to operate within the Federation.
This marks an important milestone in the development of the EOSC Federation. Poland has participated in the Build-up Phase from the very beginning as one of the thirteen Candidate Nodes. Achieving Production Node status confirms that EOSC Node Poland is fully prepared to operate from a technical, operational, and organisational perspective, and to collaborate with other nodes across the Federation.
New Opportunities for Polish Research
The integration of EOSC Node Poland into the production EOSC Federation opens up new opportunities for Polish research infrastructures and researchers. Through participation in the Federation, Polish research resources can become more easily discoverable and reusable beyond national borders.
This includes data, services, and computing resources made available through the Federation. At the same time, Polish research teams gain more direct access to resources provided by other EOSC nodes. This facilitates international collaboration and supports research activities that span countries and scientific disciplines.
A Joint Effort
EOSC Node Poland is coordinated by the National Science Centre (NCN) and developed in cooperation with Cyfronet AGH, Gdańsk University of Technology, the University of Warsaw, and the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The achievement of Production Node status is the result of the joint efforts of the teams involved in building, integrating, and preparing the Polish node for operation within the EOSC Federation.
Poland Joins the Production EOSC Federation
The NCC decision was made just days before EOSC Symposium 2026, which will take place in Florence from 14 to 16 October. During the event, the production EOSC Federation will be officially presented to the wider EOSC community.
The acceptance of EOSC Node Poland as a Production Node marks the beginning of a new stage in Poland’s participation in EOSC – moving from the build-up and preparation phase to full operation within the production Federation.
