Research data management for researchers – basic level course

Institution: National Science Centre Poland Organizer: Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling at the University of Warsaw (until May 2024) and National Science Centre Poland Training Type: Massive Open Online Course Training Format: Online Location: NAVOICA platform Date: courses available on the platform from 2 October 2023 to 31 May 2024 Registration Deadline: 2 October 2023 – 20 April 2024 Maximum Number of Participants: not applicable Fee: free training

Training Description: The first edition of four Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) on research data management has been launched on the Navoica platform. They are aimed at researchers who work with research data on a daily basis, as well as data stewards supporting researchers in their work. We encourage you to find out more about the educational offerings of the service.

The aim of the course ‘Research data management for researchers – basic level course’ is to provide participants with basic knowledge of data management and to develop the skills and competences to put this knowledge into practice, i.e. to manage data efficiently during research projects.

The course provides a comprehensive coverage and introduction to the issues related to research data management, both in the context of the requirements of research conducting and funding institutions, as well as good practices and principles adopted by scientific communities. The individual modules of the course combine theoretical aspects with a practical dimension, focusing on the ability to use the knowledge gained to design and implement an effective research data management strategy.
