Magdalena Szuflita-Żurawska

Graduate of the University of Warsaw and Boras University in Sweden in Digital Library Management. Head of the Scientific and Technical Information Services, Open Science Competence Center Leader and Rector’s Plenipotentiary for Open Science at the Gdansk University of Technology.

Member of international working groups related to data stewardship and open science, including Data stewardship, curricula and career paths Task Force (EOSC), Education and Training on Handling of Research Data IG (co-chair), Engaging Researchers with Data IG, Professionalising Data Stewardship IG (RDA). Reviewer of applications for CoreTrustSeal certification.

Participant and speaker at numerous national and international conferences. Contractor in scientific and infrastructure projects (e.g. Positive Management of Technical Universities: a new incentive model OPUS NCN; MOST DANYCH Multidisciplinary Open Knowledge Transfer System – Phase II: Open Research Data).

Coordinator in the RDA/EOSC project “Data practices in an interdisciplinary perspective – building good standards and universal solutions” and in “Activities to promote and raise awareness of open research data” under “Excellence Initiative – Research University” (IDUB) 1.4.b at Gdansk University of Technology. Participant in the “FAIRness Assessment Challenge”.

Her research interests are in Open Science, scientific communication and productivity. She conducts training courses for academics and doctoral students and a subject in the doctoral program “Scientific Databases and Information Skills.”
