Gdansk University of Technology has been implementing activities to support good practices in Open Science. In 2017, Gdansk University of Technology created and launched the Bridge of Knowledge platform as part of the implementation of the “Multidisciplinary Open Knowledge Transfer System – Bridge of Knowledge” project. To enable users of the platform to share and archive research data, a research data repository was launched in cooperation with the University of Gdansk and the Medical University of Gdansk as part of the implementation of the project “MOST DANYCH. Multidisciplinary Open Knowledge Transfer System – stage II: Open Research Data”. As of 2023, MOST DANYCH has been certified by CoreTrustSeal for trusted repositories.

Rector’s Plenipotentiary for Open Science and the Open Science Competence Center have been established at Gdansk University of Technology. The tasks of the OSCC include: supporting scientists at various stages of research and publication processes; shaping their information competence and providing knowledge about Open Science; publishing in OA and research data management. Gdansk University of Technology participates in national and international consortia and working groups dealing with Open Science, including RDA, EOSC, CESAER, LIBER and SPARC Europe.
