The Polish Polar Consortium works for the integration of polar research in Poland and effective cooperation of the Polish scientific community focused on polar sciences, mainly through:
- developing long-term directions for the development of polar research in Poland,
- raising funds for scientific initiatives,
- supporting initiatives increasing the visibility of Polish polar research in the international arena,
- supporting initiatives undertaken by and for the young generation of polar researchers,
- developing best logistics practices,
- strengthening the work of Polish polar stations,
- information and educational activities,
- sharing data following FAIR data principles.
Currently, the Consortium is intensifying its efforts to create a system of distributed repositories with one access point to data through the Polish Polar DataBase (https://ppdb.us.edu.pl/).
