The Polish Polar Consortium works for the integration of polar research in Poland and effective cooperation of the Polish scientific community focused on polar sciences, mainly through:

  • developing long-term directions for the development of polar research in Poland,
  • raising funds for scientific initiatives,
  • supporting initiatives increasing the visibility of Polish polar research in the international arena,
  • supporting initiatives undertaken by and for the young generation of polar researchers,
  • developing best logistics practices,
  • strengthening the work of Polish polar stations,
  • information and educational activities,
  • sharing data following FAIR data principles.

Currently, the Consortium is intensifying its efforts to create a system of distributed repositories with one access point to data through the Polish Polar DataBase (https://ppdb.us.edu.pl/).
