The University of Gdansk actively supports the idea of open science, implementing it through the Open Access Policy, in effect at the university since 2017. A key element of this policy is the “Knowledge Base” repository, managed by the University Library. The Knowledge Base is a CRIS system based on Omega-PSIR software, which also serves as an institutional repository. In addition to the institutional repository, the UG Library also operates the University Academic Journals Platform, based on Open Journal Systems software. The platform has been running since 2018, and all journals published on it are available in open access. In addition, the Library has a Research Data Management and Open Science Department which supports researchers in research data management processes, in preparing a Data Management Plan, and in making research data available in repositories and publishing in the open access model.
